Brittany has spent almost 20 years supporting organizations committed to mental health and substance use research, policy, education, and care. Brittany spent over 13 years working for a community based, democracy led organization in the Downtown East side (DTES) of Vancouver which has given her significant experience working with people who use substance. This work was equity driven and has led Brittany to have assisted in creating and advocating for and peer-led policies and programs with the that will improve their lives of people who use substances.
Working as an executive director for over 5 years and years as a volunteer board member has led Brittany to have significant experience in governance and leadership of non-profit organizations.
Brittany graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Master’s in Public Health and has managed larger multiyear research projects at both the provincial and national level. Brittany deeply believes in “nothing about us without us” and strives to be an ally in all work and research she participates in.
