Rural Manitoba

Em is a descendant of settlers. Born in Vancouver and raised in BC’s Lower Mainland, she moved to Alberta in 2002 and then to Manitoba in 2020.

Her primary passions are scholarly literature reviews (systematic, narrative, scoping, and more) with synthesis, and program evaluation. Trained and experienced in systematic reviews, nothing makes her happier than spending a few weeks in the research databases finding answers to complex questions. She lives for synthesis and bringing the extant literature into real-world use.

Em’s other passion is program evaluation, in which she has both formal training (Canadian Evaluation Society) and extensive experience. She has created many program evaluation strategies for educational programs, clinical settings, and community agencies, and has also completed evaluations and reports for these programs. She loves devising robust evaluation strategies with a focus on low-burden, high-impact data collection. We don’t know if what we’re doing is working unless we measure it and she’s here to help you with that!

Her background includes working as a registered nurse in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, teaching nursing and allied health students in a range of settings, and conducting research, including community-based research. She is also a program evaluator and consultant.
