Lauren Deane is a Masters level Social Worker with over a decade of work experience in the addictions and mental health field. She lives and works in the traditional lands and unceded territory of the Quw'utsun' people. Lauren has worked for the federal government, in private clinics, private practice and with the provincial health authority specializing in providing individual and group therapy for individuals with active substance use disorders.

Lauren brings with her experience in project design, development and management. She has designed and implemented DBT and CBT skills programs in both private and public clinic settings. In addition, she has provided project management support in the development of programming for an inpatient treatment center for men with substance use disorders. She highly values a team approach believing strongly in the strength of diverse perspectives. Lauren is passionate about delivering material that is evidence based but also meets the needs of the client and is feasible to implement.

Lauren is passionate about bringing an empathetic and non judgmental stance to addictions work while incorporating evidence based modalities that strive to promote client wellness. Lauren has completed additional training in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. These modalities form the basis on which she provides therapy and develops group programming. When not at work Lauren can be found hiking, camping and spending time with her family outside.
