Lizzy Matzinger is a cis-gender White settler woman living and working on the unceded and unsurrendered territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe People, in a region colonially known as Petawawa, Ontario. The name Petawawa comes from the Algonquin word biidaawewe, meaning “the sound of the water.”
Lizzy is a strategist and creative thinker with a background in public health, evaluation, and evidence-informed communications. She is driven by a commitment to making care more accessible, equitable, and responsive, ensuring that evidence doesn’t just inform change but actively improves people’s lives.
Her experience spans substance use, harm reduction, and mental health, including national knowledge translation initiatives, community-based program evaluations, and large-scale funding proposals for government and non-profit partners. She is passionate about autonomy in care and improving health literacy, supporting people who use drugs, and the families and communities who love them, through research and systems that centre dignity and choice.
At Changemark, Lizzy leads strategies that position the company for sustainable growth and long-term impact. She builds structures and strategies that strengthen how Changemark delivers and communicates its value, ensuring the company continues to grow with clarity, purpose, and integrity.
