Marlies launched her career as an ICU nurse before diving headfirst into the world of change and innovation. She is passionate about helping nonprofit and government organizations design more agile ways of working to provide better services to their clients/patients.

She’s worked across national and provincial health systems since 2005 and is very proud of launching The Design Lab for Alberta Health Services in 2016. Design thinking is her passion, and she combines this with strategic foresight to help teams’ future proof their organizations. and loves working with Changemark as one of her partners.

Recent highlights of her work include strategic planning, using foresight, for a post secondary institution and a professional association. Her consultancy group also recently created a rare disease pathway with the help from patients, clinicians, policy makers and government. This project involved interviews to inform journey mapping and personas completed with a two-day in person co-design event with people from across the country.
