Rishika Selvakumar is a public health consultant and researcher based in British Columbia, living and working on the traditional and unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. She holds a Master of Public Health and is a doctoral candidate whose work focuses on youth mental health systems and equitable access to care. Rishika is committed to advancing health equity and improving population well-being through evidence-informed policy, collaborative evaluation, and community-driven innovation.
Rishika has extensive experience working across public health, community mental health, and social service sectors to support the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs and policies at local and provincial levels. Her work emphasizes systems-level thinking and cross-sector collaboration to improve access, effectiveness, and sustainability of mental health interventions. She brings a strong background in mixed-methods research, program evaluation, and knowledge translation to guide data-driven decision-making and meaningful stakeholder engagement.
Grounded in participatory and trauma-informed approaches, Rishika works alongside organizations, government partners, and communities to co-develop evaluation frameworks, translate evidence into practice, and build capacity for continuous learning. Her approach centers lived and living experience expertise to ensure that programs and policies reflect the realities and priorities of those most impacted by systemic inequities.
