Amanda Yu lives and works in Edmonton, located within Treaty 6 Territory and within the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 4. Edmonton includes the Métis homelands and the traditional First Nation territories of the Cree, Dene, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe and Blackfoot.

Amanda has over a decade of experience in academia, government services, and healthcare in Canada and the United Kingdom. She has extensive experience leading through complexity and leverages her wide range of experience to support teams to identify, articulate, and activate their strategic objectives.

Amanda has worked with a variety of stakeholders, from executive leadership to front-line community service providers, and enjoys bridging the connection between multi-disciplinary groups to support shared decision making. She also leverages her experience to advance the development and analysis of public policy with a particular focus on communicating with senior decision makers.

Recent highlights of Amanda’s work include the development of a stakeholder-driven, evidence-based policy for harm-reduction services at mass events, a policy analysis of the role of transitional housing to support people experiencing homelessness, and a multi-year strategic plan for a medical academic faculty. Amanda is also an accomplished grant writer, having procured $200 million in grant funding/philanthropic donations over the last decade.
